it is about
UNDERSTANDING
- William Paul Thurston -
What can I do for you?
I offer a knowledgeable explanation of all concepts. Students who understand the "why" underlying the mathematics come to appreciate its value and are therefore more successful.
I work closely with each student to identify the keys to his or her comprehension, and then facilitate their understanding and mastery of the subject.

Benefits of Math Tutoring
Mathematics can be challenging even for intelligent people, and just about everyone needs individual instruction at some point or another. With JKaplan Math Tutoring, the student receives that attention and commitment to his or her success.

Algebra
Algebra is an extremely important topic, as it is the foundation for all higher mathematics beyond arithmetic. Beginning with knowledge of the basic symbols and principles of algebra and continuing through to polynomial, quadratic, rational, radical, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric equations and functions, students will gain a great deal of confidence and competence in their mathematical abilities.
Standardized Tests
Valuable strategies and techniques for mastering the math portions of these standardized tests and improving your score.
Geometry
The Greeks formalized the study of the spatial arrangements that exist in both two- and three-dimensional space and called it Geometry. It is used in every real-world environment as well as in the intricate principles of science.
Statistics
Statistics is a branch of mathematics dealing with data collection, organization, analysis, and most importantly, interpretation of the information gleaned from the data. Statistics uses principles of normal and sampling distributions, hypothesis testing, correlation, and regression, and is applied to many different endeavors in life.
Pre-Calculus
Pre-Calculus can be considered very advanced algebra. It encompasses a wide range of topics including exponential and logarithmic functions, analytic trigonometry along with its graphs and functions, conics, matrices, vectors, polar and parametric equations. Pre-calculus includes all these topics and more, just before the student begins their study of Calculus.
